Description
Halkidiki olive paste is a delicious and very versatile product that well complements various recipes for healthy snacks, salads and hot dishes. Green olive paste consists of Greek ripe Halkidiki olives, which, after a natural fermentation process, are ground into a thick paste with the addition of Extra Virgin olive oil and salt.
Halkidiki (Halkidiki) – the most popular olives, got their name from the area in which they are grown. The taste of this variety of olives is full, spicy, and also moderately bitter aftertaste with notes of fruit flavors and without any hint of oiliness. Since olives are harvested while they are not yet fully ripe, their oval-shaped flesh is very elastic, juicy (fleshy) with a small bone. Halkidiki olives are harvested from mid-September to the end of October. The olives themselves range from a bright yellow-green color to a rich yellow hue (by the time of ripening).
Extra Virgin oil in olive paste replaces preservatives. Back in the days of ancient Greece, vegetables were canned using olive oil – the oil film covering the product does not allow it to oxidize and prevents the reproduction of bacteria. Olive oil does not react in any way with ingredients or packaging, and does not interfere with the absorption of nutrients. The oil is useful both by itself and as a supplement to the paste, due to the content of polyphenols, fatty acids (stearic acid, linoleic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, Omega-6, arachin, palmitic) and vitamins E, K, B4, along with other useful substances in a lower concentration.
This pasta is perfect for bread, sandwiches or even as a sauce for crackers and vegetables.
